How Credit Waypoint is paid, what we are not, and how to read the tables on this site.

Advertising and commissions

We may earn a commission if you apply for a credit card or other product through a link on this site. That is an advertiser relationship. Some links are affiliate links. Apply buttons that pay us should be marked as sponsored.

A commission does not decide which card sits on the map. The map is written first. The link is added second, when a program exists.

Issuers and networks may pay different amounts for different cards. We will not hide a cheaper or free card to push a higher payout.

What the tables are

Card categories, bonuses, fees, and merchant coding change. A table is a snapshot with a date, not a contract. Your statement is the only official record of how a charge coded.

Homepage and card-map examples (Ink, Amex Business Gold, Spark, and others) are illustrations. They are not a recommendation to apply and not a promise those cards will code that way for you.

Approvals and terms

Approval, credit lines, and bonus eligibility are the issuer’s decision. Always read the issuer’s current terms before you apply. If our page and the issuer disagree, the issuer wins.

The method behind every comparison is on How we compare. If a guide disagrees with that page, that page wins until we fix the guide.
